Mrs. Winton Latham Taylor

April 13, 1942 - March 4, 2017

Mrs. Frances Winton Latham Taylor, 74, of Elberton, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Hartwell Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Iva, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Carl Erskine and Bertha Brown Latham. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Derrell Taylor, after 27 years of marriage and her sister, Amie Latham Young. Mrs. Taylor was a devoted mother and grandmother, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and needle crafts. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Taylor’s life was held on Tuesday, March 7th at 2:00 p.m. in the Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Don Nestor and Rev. Eddie Seawright officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Chris Alexander, Jimmy Carnes, Mike Gaines, Charles Hulett, Bill Gaines, Harry Turner, and Derek Thomason serving as pallbearers. The family recieved friends at the church Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. just prior to service. Survivors include two daughters, Wynette Taylor Neal and Ted Collins, of Hartwell and Derelyn Taylor Smith and Larry, of Elberton; two grandchildren, Emma Kate Smith and Jackson Derrell Smith; and nieces, Lynn Cheek Rau Jackson and Karen Cheek Jones. Memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Ministry of Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church, c/o Mrs. Sandra Hulett, 3018 Moore Rd., Elberton, GA 30635. The family was at the home of Dee and Larry Smith, 2264 Montevideo Rd., Elberton, GA. Arrangements for Mrs. Winton Latham Taylor were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elberton.
