Willamette B. Scarborough

Mrs. Willamette B. Scarborough, 95, of Elberton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Nancy Hart Nursing Center. Mrs. Scarborough was born in Elberton, March 26, 1918 to the late Norman and Mattie Sue Brown. She was the wife of the late Bummie Scarborough, and was a member of Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Scarborough is survived by her son, Cecil Scarborough (Mary) and daughter Betty Haynes; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Scarborough was preceded in death by children, Eugene Scarborough, Ann Smith, and Morris Scarborough; a grandson and two great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mrs. Scarborough’s life was held Monday, February 10, 2014 at 3 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Hart officiating. Visitation for family and friends was on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home. Interment followed at Elmhurst Cemetery.
