Susie Dunn Saxon

Mrs. Susie Laurel Dunn Saxon, 68, of Carlton, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at her home.A native of Elberton, she was the daughter of the late Sam Malrey and Laura Eula Dye Dunn.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Saxon was preceded in death by a son, Larry Clint Saxon, in 1997.Four brothers also preceded her in death: Malrey Dunn, Kendall Dunn, Norman Dunn, and Brady Lee “Red” Dunn.Mrs. Saxon was retired from Elbert Memorial Hospital, where she had worked as a Nursing Assistant.She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and she enjoyed reading. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Larry Saxon; daughter, Teresa Saxon; son, Steven Saxon; and sister, Dorieta Webb.She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Desirae Saxon, Destini Phelps, Jasmine Phelps, Jaycie Williams, and Amber Callahan; and six great-grandchildren, Aileah Jackson, Jaylen Jackson, Hailey Jackson, Alivia Laurel Rose Allen, Delani Callahan, and Baxley Callahan. A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. David Strickland officiating. A time of visitation was on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.Interment of cremains followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements for Mrs. Susie Laurel Saxon were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
