Ms. Scarlet Peppers Parker, 67, of Durham, North Carolina, formerly of Elberton, passed away March 28, 2016.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Hester Peppers.Scarlet graduated from Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina and was employed by Carolina Telephone and also Southern Bell. Ms. Parker is survived by a sister, Janet Melton and brother-in-law, Jerry Melton, Niece, Stephanie Bishop, Nephews, David Edelman and Jonathan Melton, Grandnieces, Madison and Hannah Edelman, and Jessie Bishop, Grandnephews, Logan Edelman and Jackson Bishop. A service to celebrate Ms. Parker’s life was held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating.The family received friends on Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until service time.Intermentfollowed in Elmhurst Cemetery. Scarlet never met a stranger.She loved people and had an amazing gift for remembering names.She was a giver.It brought her great joy to share whatever she had with someone else.“God Bless You” and “I love you” were frequent words from Miss Scarlet, not only for family but for everyone she met!Scarlet couldn’t say thank you enough.She was so grateful for everything given to her or done for her.She was a beautiful person inside and out.Scarlet loved the Lord Jesus Christ and memorized many portions of Scripture.She was never hesitant about sharing the wonderful Words of Life with others.She loved singing and would sing a song for you in a heartbeat.Many will miss her singing! My sister, Scarlet, taught me a lot.She loved the French language and would often tell me “Je t’aime de tout mon Coeur” which means “ I love you with all my heart”.I do love you with all my heart, my sister Scarlet.You will be missed, but I am thankful you are safe in The Arms of Jesus!
