Olin Chester Maxwell

Mr. Olin Chester Maxwell, 66, of Commerce, Georgia passed away Monday, November 9, 2015. Mr. Maxwell was born in Elberton on June 4, 1949 to the late Bob and Mary Lou Jones Maxwell.He was the husband of Glenda Briggs Maxwell, having celebrated over 22 years of marriage together.Mr. Maxwell was a veteran of the United States Army, and worked throughout his life as a polisher in the granite industry. In addition to his wife, Glenda, Mr. Maxwell is survived by his sons: Olin Chester Maxwell, Jr. and his wife, Tracie, Robert Jones Clark Maxwell and his wife, Misty Dawn, all of Dewy Rose,and Patrick Von Maxwell of Elberton;a daughter, Nakita Chenoa Maxwell of Commerce; and nine grandchildren.He also leaves behind two sisters: Emily Green of Iva, SC, and Tracy Lord of Nicholson; and a brother, Johnny Jones. A funeral service to celebrate Mr. Maxwell’s life was held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home.A time of visitation was from 4:00 p.m. until time for the service.
