George M. Moon

Mr. George Marion Moon, Sr., 66, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his home. Mr. Moon was born in Elberton to the late Henry Thomas and Edna Swilling Moon.Hewas the husband of Adina Moon, with whom he had celebrated over 37 years of marriage together.In addition to his parents, Mr. Moon was preceded in death by a son, Michael Payton. Mr. Moon drove a truck for his life’s work, and also was an ordained Minister of the Gospel.He enjoyed many things in this life, with music, carving, and fishing being some of his favorite pasttimes. Mr. Moon is survived by his wife, Adina Fulllington Moon; four sons: David Payton, Aaron Moon (Sandra), Joseph Moon (Amanda), and George Moon, Jr. (Christy); and several grandchildren: Malaya Moon, Camden Moon, Samantha Franklin, Atalie Ivey, along with Tiffany, Kattie, and Austin Moon, Adrian and Andrew Payton, Tyler and Courtney Payton, Luke Duncan, Justin Bailey and a new grandson on the way; and several great-grandchildren: Makenzie Mack, Braylen and Layla Gilliam, and Allianna and Aniyah.He also leaves behind one brother, Thomas Moon, and an aunt, Mildred Hagood. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Moon’s life was held on Saturday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. in the Celebration Outreach Center, with Rev. Douglas Huff officiating.A time of visitation began at 10:00 a.m. just prior to the service.
