Floy Clara Gilbert Fleming

Mrs. Floy Fleming, 93, passed away at St. Mary’s Health Care in Athens, GA on December 21, 2021. Born on June 16,1928 in Forsyth County Georgia, she was the 12th child of the late Elzie and Clara Blackstock Gilbert. Floy married Mr. FrankA. Fleming on February 23, 1946, with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage. Mrs. Fleming is survived by four children; Mrs. Sandra F. Brady (Richard) of Elberton GA, Mr. Leonard E. Fleming (Lori) of Lexington GA, Mr. Donny L. Fleming (Pam) of Lafayette GA, and Mr. Tony L. Fleming of Rock Springs GA. Six grandchildren; Mrs. Jill Brady Bozone (Martin), Mrs. Joanna Brady Bost (Kevin), Mr. Marcus Fleming, Mrs. Kelly Fleming Wende (Seth), Miss Katrina Fleming, and Mr. Chase Fleming (Tami). Mrs. Fleming is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fleming was employed by Georgia Synthetics for many years; but her greatest enjoyment came from serving as a foster parent for many children who passed through Elbert County. She loved her animals and raised litters of black miniature poodles, which were the inspiration for her large collection of poodle figurines. Due to Covid-19, there will be no services planned at this time. Arrangements for Mrs. Floy Fleming were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
