Elaine Rousey

Mrs. Jimmie Elaine Rhodes Rousey ,68, of Elberton, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at AnMed Hospital in Anderson, South Carolina.Mrs. Rousey was born in Elbert County, March 29, 1945. Elaine worked for 35 years as a Legal Secretary for Heard, Leverett, and Adams Law Firm until her retirement. Left to cherish her memories are her son: Charles Eric Rousey and his wife Charla; her mother: Wadene Tate Smith; a sister Janet Floyd and her husband Harry; grandchildren: Charles Clayton Rousey, Tailor Nicole Rousey, and James Logan Rousey; and a great-grandchild Charles Colton Rousey all of Elberton. Elaine was preceded in death by her grandparents: Jim and Adeline D. Ruff; father: L. M. “Bud “ Smith and a brother Alvin Clifton “Butch” Rhodes. Memorial services celebrating her life were held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Rousey’s memory can be made to Falling Creek Baptist Church, 1020 Jack McVeigh Drive, Elberton, Georgia30635 or Harvest Community Baptist Church, Elbert Street, Elberton, Georgia30635. Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton, was in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Elaine Rousey.
