Edward A. Ayers

Mr. Edward A Ayers, 89, of Elberton, Georgia passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, March 17, 2016 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Ed was born in Elberton, Georgia to the late Ira and Ada Carlton Ayers.He was married to his bride, Helen Beasley Ayers, having celebrated 66 years of marriage together.Ed owned and operated Ayers Hardware until his retirement.He was a lifelong member of Dewy Rose Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen Ayers and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Ed’s life was held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. A time of visitation was Sunday beginning at 1:00 until service time. Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dewy Rose Baptist Church,P. O. Box 149, Dewy Rose, GA30634 Arrangements for Mr. Edward A.
