Dorothy Powell Whatley

Mrs. Dorothy Powell Whatley, 91, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia. Mrs. Whatley was the daughter of the late George Clinton and Eunar Paris King Powell.She was the widow of the late Robert Hail Whatley.Mrs. Whatley worked with K-Mart Company until her retirement. Mrs. Whatley is survived by a daughter, Brenda Colbert and her husband, Michael, of Elberton; a granddaughter, Madelaine Colbert and her husband Ryan Cieslak, of Charlotte, NC; a grandson, Robert H. Colbert and his wife, Kim, of Peachtree City; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Colette Colbert, both of Peachtree City. A service to celebrate Mrs. Whatley’s life was held on Saturday, May 2, 2015at 11:00 a.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev.
