Dianne Whitworth Torres

Mrs. Dianne Whitworth Torres, 74, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Augusta University Hospital. A native of Lavonia, Dianne was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elaine Jones Whitworth.She was the beloved wife of Refugio Torres, with whom she had celebrated 20 years of marriage.Dianne was a talented artist, and taught art in local county schools, including Hart County and Elbert County.She thoroughly enjoyed studying family genealogy, and was also fond of cats.Her greatest love was the love she had for her family. Dianne is survived by her husband, Refugio Torres; and her children: Eric Fields, Kevin Fields, and Tyler Drane, all of Elberton.She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walker Whitworth and his wife, Gwen; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Mrs. Torres’ life was held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home in Elberton. A time of visitation began at 1:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment was in Franklin Memorial Gardens North in Lavonia, Georgia. Arrangements for Mrs. Dianne Whitworth Torres were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
