Dewey D. Isom

Mr. Dewey D. Isom, 85, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Spring Valley Nursing Home. Mr. Isom was born in 1929 in Hart County, Georgia to the late Lawson Daniel and Minnie Hembree Isom.He was the beloved husband of Sue Fleming Isom, and had celebrated over 54 years of marriage together. Mr. Isomwas a veteran of the United States Army, and served his country gallantly during the Korean Conflict.He worked for the NAPA Auto Parts Company until his retirement after 40 years of employment.Mr. Isom was a dedicated member of the Bowman United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Sue, Mr. Isom is survived by several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by all seven of his brothers and sisters. A service to celebrate Mr. Isom’s life was held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. Rev. John Sexton officiated, with piano music provided by Mrs. Margaret Purvis.Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman.
