Mrs. Corine Scarborough Haynie, 92, of Elberton passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Haynie was born in Elbert County on July 14, 1921 to the late John Henry and Essie Mills Scarborough. She was married to the late Raymond E. Haynie. She was of Baptist faith and a long time member of Bethel E Baptist Church. Mrs. Haynie is survived by her children: Perry Haynie, and Linda Dennis and her husband, Nathan; and three grandchildren: Curtis Dennis and his wife Cathy, Catherine Dennis, and Cody Haynie and his wife Ashley. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Haynie was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. A service to celebrate Mrs. Haynie’s life was held Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Adams officiating.Visitation for family and friends was on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home.
