Alice Scott Childs

Alice Ruth Scott Childs, age 97, of Elberton, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013.Born August 3, 1916 in Abbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Orr Scott and Martha Jane Moore Scott.She was the oldest living member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. Mrs. Childs is survived by her children: William O. (Linda) Childs, Julia Faye Mills, Carolyn Elizabeth (Ray) Jones, Patricia Wenona (Johnny) Churney, Sandra Ruth (Jon) Eckstein and Thomas Alton (Sandi) Childs, Jr.She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, sisters; Rebecca Echols and Mary Jane Pyron. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Alton Childs, Sr., and son Larry Gene Childs. A service to celebrate Mrs. Child’s life was Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn United Methodist Church.A time of visitation was at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed at Woodlawn United Methodist Church Cemetery.
