Virginia Dale Thatcher

Mrs. Virginia Dale Mellott Thatcher, 69, of Royston, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016in Athens, Georgia. Mrs. Thatcher was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John Edward and Vera Shaffer Mellott.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Charles Thatcher, and a great-grandchild, Izach Faries. Mrs. Thatcher leaves behind four daughters: Tina Pullian, Tammy Bennett, Teresa Thatcher (Keith Epps), and Tracy Harris (Terry);and grandchildren: Tony Pullian, Tonya Pullian (Jesse Graham), Joshua Bennett (Kylee Wright), Amanda Bennett, Kendra Crawford (Bobby Mullins), Kristin Crump (Ryan), Nick Crawford (Alli), Erica Rice (Richard Faries), and Kelsey Harris (Grant Risner).She also leaves behind an adopted son, Vance Miller (Melissa); an honorary family member, Adam Hart;and great-grandchildren: Rylee, Laken, Emma, Zaxsen, Braylen, Kenneth, and Jace; and an adopted grandson, Logan Miller. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hicks Chapel, with visitation the night before from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Interment followed at Concord UMC Cemetery, with Keith Epps, Adam Hart, Christopher Coggin, Kenneth Faries, Ken Crawford, and Richard Faries serving as pallbearers. Arrangements for Mrs. Virginia Dale Thatcher are in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
