Velera Christian Furcron

Mrs. Velera Christian Furcron, 82, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at her home. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Furcron was the daughter of the late Worley and Macie Dickerson Christian.She was the wife of William “Bill” Furcron, with whom she had celebrated over 65 years of marriage.Mrs. Furcron was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Christian, and a grandson, Matthew Furcron. In addition to her husband, Bill, Mrs. Furcron is also survived by four sons: Ed Furcron of Clover, SC, Ken Furcron and his wife, Jan, of Stuart, FL, Craig Furcron of Rock Hill, SC., and Kent Furcron and his wife, Retha, of Long Beach, MS.She also leaves behind five grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rosa Christian of Elberton; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. in Elmhurst Cemetery in Elberton, with Rev. Gary D. Purvis officiating. Arrangements for Mrs. Velera Christian Furcron were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
