Suzanne Waters Burden

Mrs. Suzanne Waters Burden, 60, of Elberton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at her home. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Burden was the daughter of Janelle Smith Waters and the late J.D. Waters. Mrs. Burden was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Burden, and an infant son, Jason Michael Burden.She was a homemaker and had worked in the nursing home industry in the dietary and housekeeping departments. Survivors include her mother, Janelle Waters of Elberton; two sons: Dan Burden and his wife, Brooke, of Elberton, and Benjamin Joshua Burden of Anderson, SC; and two brothers:David Waters and Steven Waters, both of Elberton. Mrs. Burden also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Cody Burden, Katlyn Burden, Dalton Burden, Gabriel Burden, Cole Burden, Nick Burden, Mark Burden, Michael Burden, Chance Burden, and Rhys Carter;two uncles: Howard Smith and Billy Waters; and numerous cousins. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Scott Mize officiating. The family received friends at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed in Bethel E Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bethel E Baptist Church, 2576 Calhoun Falls Hwy, Elberton, GA 30635. Arrangements for Mrs. Suzanne Waters Burden were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
