Michael Herndon

Mr. Mike Herndon, 67, of Bowman, Georgia passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at his home. Mike was born in Elberton, Georgia to Fred and Eugenia Mauldin Herndon.He was the husband of Lynn Herndon, with whom he had celebrated 46 years of marriage. Mike was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during the Vietnam War.He worked throughout his life as a contractor. In addition to his wife, Lynn, Mike is survived by a son, Nathan Herndon (Hannah) of Comer; and two daughters, Anna Terrell (Jason) and Brooke Campos (Kevin), all of Elberton.He also leaves behind several grandchildren: Connor Moon, Marti Love Terrell, Noah Michael Herndon, Jace Terrell, and Lydia Herndon;his mother, Eugenia Herndon; and a brother John A. Herndon.Mike was preceded in death by his father, Fred Herndon. A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life was held on Monday, September 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Adams officiating.A reception and time of visitation was held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to T.J & Friends Foundation, P.O. Box 6161, Elberton, Georgia 30635. Arrangements for Mr. Mike Herndon were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
