Mrs. Mae Belle Evans Harrison, 92, of Elberton, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at Spring Valley Nursing Home. Mrs. Harrison was born in Elberton, Georgia, daughter of the late Mary Chandler Lee and Worley Evans.She was the widow of James Lee Harrison.Mrs. Harrison was a retired Nursing Assistant with Spring Valley Nursing Home. Before her retirement she also worked as a waitress with Mini Burger in Elberton and worked as a soda fountain clerk with Herndon Drug Co. in Elberton. Mrs. Harrison was also a Master Quilter. Mrs. Harrison is survived by her children: Mary H. Phillips of Easley, SC, Donald Harrison and his wife, Evelyn, of Lexington, GA, Dorothy Ashley and her husband Billy of Calhoun Falls, SC,George Harrison and his wife Beth of Elberton; and one brother, Walter "Bo" Evans, of Elberton.She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren and three nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harrison was also preceded in death by a son: James Robert Harrison. A service to celebrate Mrs. Harrisons’ life was held Monday, April 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Meeks officiating. Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park.Grandsons, Jimmy Ashley, Greg Ashley, Ryan Ashley, Dylan Ashley, Chris Harrison and Jonathan Willis served as pallbearers.The men of Goss Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.A time of visitation was held on Sunday evening, April 5, 2015from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton.
