Mrs. Jimmie M. Cobo, 91, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cobo was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia to the late James and Eva Green Magill.She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Louis M. Cobo, in 2014.Jimmie worked for the City of Elberton as a stenographer and counselor with the Georgia State Labor Department. Jimmie loved spending time at the beach and also loved bird-watching.She was a lover of hats, but at the top of her list of favorite things was spending time with dear friends and the conversation that time provided.She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Elberton and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Evita Cobo and her husband, Gregory J. Smith, of Vermont; and her son, Mike Cobo and his wife, Kelly R. Cobo, of Alpharetta.She also leaves behind a grandchild, Benjamin Allen McCombs. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Cobo’s life was held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Elberton, with Rev. Gary D. Purvis officiating.A time of visitation followed in The Fellowship Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Ramp Ministry, at 132 Heard St., Elberton, GA 30635. Arrangements for Mrs. Jimmie M. Cobo were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
