James "Jim" William Dove

Mr. James "Jim" WilliamDove, Jr., 64, of Elberton, GA., passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Dove was the son of the late James Dove, Sr. and Bobbie Lee Sorrells Dove.He retired after 39 years from Elbert County Board of Education as a Shop Foreman and Diesel Mechanic. After his retirement he worked at NAPA Anderson Auto Parts.Mr. Dove served his country in The National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pat Dove; two sons Jamie William Dove III and his wife Cherie,Justin Matthew Dove, and a daughter Kristi Benson and her husband David all of Elberton; 5 grandchildren, Savannah, Laurel, and Mason Dove,Macie and Madisen Benson. Mr. Dove is also survived by two sisters Beverly Dove of Canon, GA and Stella Dove Hopkins of Acworth, GA. Mr. Dove's wishes were to be cremated. No services are planned at this time. The families are at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Elbert County Humane Society P.O. Box 267 Elberton, GA 30635.
