Helenne B. Hill

Mrs. Helenne Brown Hill, 91, of Elberton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014, at home with her family at her side. Mrs. Hill was born in Elberton to the late John Washington and Daisy Lee Thornton Brown. She was the wife of the late Arnett Hill, with whom she had celebrated 72 years of marriage. She was a longtime member of Elberton First Baptist Church and The Friendship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hill was retired from the Elberton Housing Authority where she served as assistant director. Mrs. Hill is survived by her children: Bobby Hill and his wife Becky of Tifton, and Brenda Griner and her husband Billy of Brunswick; and a brother, Ronnie Brown and his wife Joanne of Elberton.She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way, and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Mrs. Hill’s life was held on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Reverend James Guffeyofficiating. The Friendship Sunday School Class served as Honorary Pallbearers. A time of visitation was held at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
