George Allen Nicas

Mr. George A. Nicas, 59 passed away in Athens, GA on July 11, 2016.George “Buddy” Nicas was born February 3, 1957 in Bremerhaven, Germany.The son of Allen G. Nicas and the late Barbara Hill Nicas, he grew up in Columbus, GA.There, George, or as he was better known “Buddy” graduated from Hardaway High School.He attended Columbus College and later Troup Tech. The last few years of his life he resided in Athens, GA.He is survived by his father, Allen G. Nicas of Elberton, GA; sister, Amanda Widener; nieces Anna Bunch (Jason), Elizabeth Foster (Justin),Sarah Widener all of Greenville, SC and nephew Daniel Widener (Rebecca) of Marietta, GA; two great nieces, Kaitlyn and Hayley and a great nephew, Luke. George loved his family, music, painting, writing, Georgia Bulldog football and Lady Dogs basketball.He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements for Mr. George A Nicas were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
