Arthur Burris Bond

Mr. Arthur “Art” Burris Bond, 91, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014. Mr. Bond was born August 7, 1923 in the Fortsonia Community to the late Thomas Omer and Pauline Morris Bond.He was the the husband of the late Jane Hayes Bond, and was a veteran of the United States Navy.Mr. Bond attended the University of Georgia, and worked as a county extension agent throughout his lifetime.He later retired from Cotton Incorporated. Mr. Bond is survived by his daughter, Edith “Edie” Bond of Spring Hill, FL; his grandson, Jarrod Bond Marley of Tampa, FL;and a sister, Betty Bond Childs of Elberton. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bond was preceded in death by his siblings: Clinton Bond, Raymond Bond, Thomas Omer Bond, Jr., Horace Bond, and JoElla Bond Hanvey. A service to celebrate Mr. Bond’s life was Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton.Entombment followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
